Just Cavalli is a luxury fashion brand, offering designer jeans, handbags, shoes, skirts, dresses, trousers and tops, together with accessories including belts and sunglasses. Designs are made with luxurious materials - the denim used for the jeans is of the highest quality, typically featuring embellishments such as studs and diamonte crystals. Roberto Cavalli, who owns the Just Cavalli brand, invented the sand-blasting of jeans which is what gives his jeans such a soft feel and unique colouring.
Other Just Cavalli trademarks include bags and belts made from the finest leather, ponyskin and snakeskin, and the use of metallic colours. Silk and satin feature heavily in the designs of his dresses and tops. Patterns are often either floral or animal print, including leopard which also features heavily on his belts and bags. Where his clothes are self coloured, they are typically adorned with beads, frills, sequins or crystals to make them extra special. There is certainly nothing dull or plain about his designs - wear them with pride if you want to be noticed, shrinking violets need not apply!
The Just Cavalli brand was launched by Roberto Cavalli in 1998 and includes clothing for both men and women. There are also spin off ranges of Just Cavalli eyewear, watches and perfumes.
It has been reported that Roberto Cavalli was considering selling the company, but now this is considered unlikely due to the prevailing market conditions. "I'm not selling the company. The timing is not ripe yet for such a step. What's more, as I have already said a thousand times, we don't need to sell," Mr Cavalli was reported to have said in an interview. "A year ago, the banks spoke to me about certain numbers, which today have vanished with the stock market crisis. I'm not selling for €800-900 million," - the company was said to have been valued at €1.4 billion in 2007.
