French Connection (FCUK) was founded in 1972 by Stephen Marks, and is a mid range retailer of fashion clothing for women including jeans, dresses, coats, jackets, knitwear, cashmere, tops, skirts, workwear, partywear, shoes and jewellery.
French Connection stores are situated in many tows, cities and shopping centres across the UK. They are also a worldwide brand with a strong presence in the US and Hong Kong, with either the French Connection or FCUK branding.
The FCUK brand came about as this particular acronym was used as an abbreviation when faxes were sent between French Connection United Kingdom and French Connection Hong Kong (FCHK). The FCUK brand was launched in 1997 and is synonymous with the French Connection casual clothing range, but is now pretty much interchangeable with the French Connection brand. French Connection's business ethic is to produce designer quality clothes at affordable prices, which they market in an effective and innovative way.
French Connection clothing is in demand from celebrities including Paris Hilton, Hayden Panettiere and Kristen Stewart (see photo on the left).
French Connection Jeans come in a range of different fits for women, including wide leg, bootflare, flared, skinny fit and bootleg. The easiest way to browse and buy the range is directly from the French Connection web site.
The jeans are generally priced between £60 - £80 a pair, but there are currently reductions of up to 75% in the French Connection sale.
